Hello world,
my name is Alex Gabrielli and I am a young freelance digital artist located in southern California who specializes in photography, videography and advanced digital imaging on both mediums.
Throughout my life I have performed with a wide variety of organizations and dance companies.
I graduated from a high school in downtown Phoenix, Arizona called The Metropolitan Arts Institute, where I focused my studies on dance technique and choreography. During this time I performed under the guidance of Lisa Starry and Scorpius Dance Theatre at various venues around Arizona such as Herberger Theater Center, Scottsdale Performing Arts Center, and Orpheum Theater and The Phoenix Art Gallery.
After moving to California I began to work with a site specific contemporary company known as Architecture Dance Company where we performed all over Orange County. Here, I had the amazing experience of performing at non-traditional dance locations such as The Brig Pilgrim in Dana Point, Saddleback College Library and The Mission in San Juan Capistrano.
I received my BA in both Dance and Media & Cultural Studies at the University of California, Riverside in 2011. During my stay at UCR I was awarded two Chancellors Awards and became a Gluck Fellowship recipient for two years. During my last year I received an undergraduate research grant to create a short dance film with a fellow student, Rachel Holdt and worked on developing a digital dance archive for local choreographer Wendy Rogers.
In fall of 2011, I began studying at The University of Southern California’s graduate cinematic program (SCA) with an emphasis on TV and Film Production.
